The move-to-earn (M2E) fitness app STEPN has teamed up with Japanese sportswear ASICS to launch new series of non-fungible tokens on the Solana NFT marketplace. The new NFT collections are aimed at inspiring sports fans to remain physically active.
STEPN And ASIC Integration
On November 4, a press release announced that the M2E fitness app has teamed up with ASICS to introduce the NFT collection called “The ASICS x STEPN UI” on the Solana marketplace. This new collection includes specially designed limited-edition GT-2000 11 running shoes, giving holders a chance to earn a fixed set of ASICS x STEPN GT-2000 NFTs.
While commenting about the new NFT project in a recent short interview with Decrypt, Joe Pace, the Director of Web3 and Digital Goods at ASICS, remarked:
“We see a place for us to help in Web3 and bring products that inspire people to be physically active. For us, it’s just a different way of telling stories about our products and getting specific communities excited about them.”
During the interview, Pace added that although the running shoes are specially designed for the Web community, they are something anyone in the real world could use “in balance with physical activity:
“We’ve purposely chosen to stay true to ourselves with this project and do what we are known for, which is making amazing running shoes, and running shoes that you would be excited to wear literally every day.”
The new GT-2000 11 shoes are now available for pre-order for a limited five-day period, from November 4 to November 8. According to ASICS, the running shoes will sell for $200 using USDC via Solana Pay.
STEPN GT-2000 NFTs Overview
The new running shoes are available in two custom designs, including the “light mode” and “dark mode,” with the Solana-inspired design symbolizing the balance between computers and phones with physical activity.
According to ASICS, every customer purchasing the GT-2000 NFT collection will receive an ASICS Badge digital collectibles, allowing them to access more future ASICS rewards and experiences.
