Pop singer Katy Perry and singer-songwriter John Mayer have chosen to end their relationship. Their relationship had been on and off, marking this as their second breakup. They began dating in the summer of 2012, about six months after Katy Perry divorced her ex-husband, Russell Brand. The couple first split in August, only to reunite in September, appearing very happy together for some time and often seen in each other’s company. They appeared to be getting more serious, and in January, John Mayer even praised Katy during an interview. However, they faced some challenges in March, leading Perry to express her frustration on Twitter.

Many people think it might not be entirely finished. They could reunite like they did in September. It’s been reported that they still get along well. Some sources mention that Katy Perry has expressed she doesn’t want it to end for good and wants to keep the possibility open.

Perry has been working a lot in the music studio in Los Angeles and making her third album. Mayer has had some intense vocal issues recently and even had throat surgery last year. Currently he is preparing for a tour coming up and he will also be having a live Google Hangout chat that will happen on March 21. So both of the singers are busy working on different things, so one possible reason for this breakup could be to give them time to focus on their separate careers.

Some people think that this could be it for the couple, while others are convinced that they will get together either soon or after they are less busy. Only time will tell.
